The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name, phone number, email address, home address)

  • CV and employment history, salary and benefits package, references and referees, professional memberships, qualifications and education details, business plan, disciplinary details and proceedings, skills and attributes, and other similar information.

  • Details of any criminal convictions or offences.

  • Usage data including information about how you use our website and services.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You wish to become a candidate or client;

  • You request marketing or information on our services to be sent to you;

  • You provide us with feedback about our services;

  • You express an interest in being updated with relevant job opportunities;

  • You contact us about a vacancy you are hiring for, and provide details to enable us to carry out an effective search for candidates.

 

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Third parties or publicly available sources. We may receive personal data about you from various third parties as set out below:

  • Job boards and CV databases, social media / business networking accounts including LinkedIn, Companies House, and law firms’ websites.

  • Identity, Contact and Profile Data from your current employer or a referee.

  • For candidates we may collect information about Criminal Convictions and Offences from the Disclosure and Barring Service; Contact, Identity and Profile Data from regulatory and professional bodies including, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Law Society and regional Law Societies, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

  • We may receive your Contact and Identity Data from our candidates in relation to providing a reference for prospective employment.

  • By word of mouth where you have been recommended to us by a friend or former employer/ colleague.

  • We may collect automated Technical Data about your use of our services, including but not limited to, IP address, browsing actions and patterns from the use of cookies, server logs and other similar technologies. 

 

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • As a candidate; understand your requirements and match your skill set with relevant opportunities.

  • As a client; understand your requirements and tailor our search to find the most suitable candidates.

  • As a referee; obtain a reference for one of our candidates as requested by their prospective employer.

  • To use data analytics to improve our website, services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences.

  • To administer and protect our business including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data.

 

We may share this information with third parties where necessary, including prospective employers and hiring managers (our clients).

Our legal basis for collecting and processing your information

  • As a recruitment business we have a legitimate interest in sourcing suitable candidates for our clients, and securing relevant employment opportunities for our candidates.

  • The information we process will be used to assess suitability for potential roles, source potential candidates and to contact clients and referees.

 

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

How we store your personal information

At Jenson Green we are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your personal information. This is why we have put in place appropriate security and IT measures to ensure data is protected. Personal information is securely stored on a cloud-based CRM.

We keep personal information for 7 years, unless instructed otherwise.

 

Your data protection rights

  • Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
